Peaceful parenting means we take radical responsibility for managing our emotions, and we do the inner work so that we don’t take our emotions out on our child. It means we understand that behind the behaviour is an unmet need, and our job is to help meet needs. It means we set clear, consistent limits without threats, punishments or rewards.
Peaceful parenting means we prioritize connection and intentionally building a close parent-child bond. It means we accept our child’s big feelings with empathy and understanding whilst holding the boundary. It commits to taking care of ourselves so that we can show up as the best version of ourselves.
