Pregnancy requires support, but do you know what support looks like for you?

Pregnancy is a life altering phase.

 Although pregnancy can be isolating. We need a lot of support from our family, friends and peers during this period. But in order to seek support we need to understand what support looks like to us.

For a lot of people support can be words of affirmations like; "I can understand it's tough but you will get through it". For some other people it can be things like acts of service, company of the loved ones etc. Our families or partners can really care about us. But if there is no sync between our love languages. We can always end up feeling a little isolated or even left out at times.

This is why, this can also be a time for you to. Not only figure out your emotional needs. But also be really straight forward about it. Pregnancy is tough but with the right kind of people, it can always get better. And if you and your people cannot be at the same wavelengths even after trying. You can always try to establish some boundaries between you and them. Boundaries doesn't mean you're distancing yourself from them. Setting boundaries actually help you not get hurt a lot of times. As pregnancy already sends a lot of emotions into overdrive. You need to find ways to take care of yourself emotionally and physically.
