Why Should you Enroll Your Kid into Competitions

Most parents encourage their offspring to take part in inter-school quizzes, theatrical dramas, competitions, athletic meets and other extracurricular activities.

But why is it considered so necessary for a child, who’s already busy studying all day and all night, to participate in competitions? Here are a few key reasons that will surely convince you:

Children benefit from competition. People frequently evaluate themselves in comparison to others, thus competition is beneficial in that sense. It can teach people to admit defeat without losing self-esteem in a supportive setting.

When children receive feedback about their performance and areas for improvement, when winning is not the only or major goal, and when they experience learning about themselves in trying circumstances, competition can be beneficial. In these situations, competition can instruct our children in priceless things that are not generally taught in the classroom.

They are confident because they have had a lot of practice and exposure to various problems. They can also see where they are right now and work to get better by practising.

Instilling in your kids the value of healthy competition, also helps them develop a sense of discipline by making self-improvement the main objective throughout the course of time and with rigour.
