Here’s a few tips to create the perfect balance while riding solo on a trip as a mother!
No worry, No Guilt : This might be next to impossible, but it is crucial to let go of all household worries and live in the moment while you’re travelling. Be present, worry later!
Communicate : Let the kids know about your travel plans, fill them in on every tiny detail. This way you won’t feel guilty either! While travelling, make sure you communicate enough but not too much to the point you miss the joys of the solo trip!
Time Table for the Kids : Bind them to a timetable, since you won’t be there to check on their routines.Share their schedule with the other adult/parent who will be in charge. Ask for frequent updates on their routines.
Kill the Beast of Hunge : Kids love snacking, as long as they have something to snack over, they’re least likely to bother you! So, the easiest way is to load up the kitchen with all their favourite healthy foods and dishes. This way, you wouldn’t have to be concerned over what they’re eating.
Mutual Parent Support : Let your husband or a separate guardian know of all the worries you might have about the kids, while on the trip! Communicate and ask for the needful assistance from them. Do not keep it within and then panic later!
EMERGENCIES An absolute must is — listing out all emergency numbers within reach of the kids! Prep your kids for any sort of emergency situation, so that they’re prepared to handle it well themselves. Children these days aren’t as clueless as we might think!
