PREGNANCY WOES; DO I REALLY HAVE TO ‘EAT FOR 2’?

And it is also that one point of time where your body changes beyond your expectations. which is why it is very important for anyone going through this transition, to have enough strength to go through this. which is why a lot of people ask pregnant women to eat a lot during this period. and not all of them are comfortable with eating more than they feel like. Now, pregnancy is a personal journey for everyone. which is why we cannot expect everyone to have the same cravings as others.

So whenever pregnant women are fed in their houses,they are usually asked to eat for two. But is that true? Does a pregnant woman really have to eat for two people?

The simple answer is no. according to a lot of doctors. until your OB GYN suggests you to put on any weight. you don't really have to eat for two people. In fact this eating for two reasons, usually contributes a lot to the risk of gestational diabetes. Not just diabetes, there are a lot of health hazards that come with overeating. and it is very important for everyone to understand that although the woman's body changes a lot during the duration of pregnancy. It is very important for them to have a balanced diet. which is filled with a lot of fibres and nutrients. because there is a difference between a healthy diet and overeating and that's where everyone should draw the line. and most importantly A person should not be forced into eating more food than they can eat. Because there can be a big chance that all of this can also trigger eating disorders, distorted body image and a lot of other mental health problems.
