- Take Charge Postpartum
Once the new parents return home, the mother is bound to be tired from the entire pregnancy journey and birthing process. At a time like this, the father can step up and contribute in doing the simple tasks of the house like running errands, bringing in groceries etc.
- Be a motivating source, if nothing!
Let your partner know that she’s doing a great job and you’re proud of her! Mothers often have to live under the societal burden of doing everything right when in reality it’s their first time being a mother too. Ease this burden by appreciating her efforts.
- Drop and pick up the other children from school and classes
Since fathers are less likely to take paternity leaves, if you’ve an elder child at home, take full responsibility of them. The mother must already be running low on energy and sleep. The best thing you could do is take care of every matter that involves dealing with the outside part of the house.
- Spend bonding time with the child and mother
We all expect mothers to give every second of their time to the babies when in reality a child must feel their dad’s presence too. You might not think they realize, but they start recognizing faces and voices very early on.
