This is a very common occurrence in the lives of new moms. And it is not something out of the blue or unnatural since mothers want the best for the children.
Oftentimes that is because society's portrayal of a mother is very unrealistic and inaccurate. If there is something everyone has to understand about motherhood,it should be the fact that not all mothers share the same personality. Not all mothers can be dedicated to the kids to a level that they forget who they are. This is not to pit mothers against each other.
Oftentimes people forget that mothers are their own people who can have priorities beyond children. But because of this public perception of the mothers, a lot of mothers struggle with their identity as a person and a parent. It is high time that we work on our perspective about mothers. So that they feel comfortable on days when they cannot put their best foot forward. Most importantly it is valid to struggle during parenting and it is also valid to feel guilty while taking care of your child. But if we bottle up all those emotions and always try to appear perfect. We would cause a lot of distress to not only ourselves but also the people we love.
