Here is a quick overview of some of the pain you may experience during your pp period.
- Perineum pain
This is the area between your girl’s parts and the rectum. Whether or not, have stitches or not, you may be sore. Try doing kegels, use ice, sit in a donut, soak in a sit bath, and use your peri bottle.
- After contractions or afterpains
The more babies you have the worse these gets. Beware, they also increase while breastfeeding. Take OTC meds for this.
- Incision pain
This is for C-section mamas. It is highly suggested to have a postpartum binder and splint your tummy with a pillow when you move. Stay on top of your meds and take a stool softener.
- Breast pain
Engorgement is no joke mama. Take a warm shower, use breast ice packs, hand express a little before feedings, and see an IBCLC if needed.
