We live in a time where parents can make their kids engaged in laptops, mobile phones, TV, etc., which is not good for them. Some of the activities and craft ideas which parents can do for their children on days off are:
- Playing traditional games
Parents can teach their kids the games that they used to play in their childhood when there were no play stations or mobile games available. Some of the games are Kancha, Antakshari, Carrm Board, snake and ladder, etc. Parents can teach their kids about how these games are played as these games are not harmful like online gaming which is so addictive in nature that the child can sit for long hours in front of these games which can make their eyesight weak.
- Make a bird nest and feeder
This is a great way to keep the kids engaged. Kids can create a hanging nest, and feeder, and can also put in a bowl of water. This will attract the birds and after a few days, birds will start living in the nest made by the children. This will help the children to develop caring nature and also give them the responsibility of feeding the birds and filling the water in the bowl. Parents can learn from the DIY craft of making nests and feeders from the internet.
- Create a family tree
A lot of kids do not know anything about their ancestors, so parents can help their kids to make a family tree which can include a lot of generations and will give them insight into their family members. They can make a family tree either on a sheet of paper or by using a template on a computer.
- Create a LEGO city
LEGO simply means bricks which are made up of colourful plastic building blocks that can be joined or combined easily to make a tower, house, building, car, character, etc. Parents can help their kids to build a city with roads and important buildings.
- A housebound treasure hunt
Parents can create a map of the house and hide children’s toys and other stuff around the house. Parents can give the maps to their children and ask them to search for the objects by giving them hints.
